  • Reentering Society: How One New Athens Initiative Aims to Help

    After teaching an Inside Out class with half college students and half incarcerated students, an assistant professor from the University of Georgia addressed a gap in services to help incarcerated folks reenter their community once released. The Athens Reentry Collaborative now meets weekly to help former inmates find career, personal, and community support.

  • Athens-Based Food Rescue Program Enters New County, Breaking Records

    To connect vulnerable populations with food "waste" from restaurants and supermarkets, the Full Plates program is delivering foods right to non-profits and service providers, simplifying the donation process and saving time and resources. The program employs two full-time drivers to travel weekly and on-call routes to deliver food aid, and the successful program has expanded over the years - they plan to deliver more than 200,000 pounds of food in 2018.

    InfUSion Magazine is a multicultural student-run publication on the University of Georgia campus. It is UGA's first multicultural publication and only multicultural magazine. Topics range from local and campus issues to national politics to the beauty and entertainment industries.

    For the Spring 2017 edition, I was a staff writer contributing online articles and the article, “Why Black Twitter Matters” for the print magazine.

    InfUSion Magazine is a multicultural student-run publication on the University of Georgia campus. It is UGA's first multicultural publication and only multicultural magazine. Topics range from local and campus issues to national politics to the beauty and entertainment industries.

    For the Fall 2017 edition, I was on the executive board as InfUSion’s Web Director. I kept the magazine’s website up to date and wrote content for the site, as well as edited the print edition of the magazine.

    In Fall 2018, I was still on InfUSion’s executive board, but in my new role as Managing Editor. My main responsibilities were leading meetings, editing articles for the print edition of the magazine, and making sure that we hit our deadlines.
